i have one problem.file is being locked again and again by windows explorer.WHENEVR I OPEN THE FOLDER CONTAINING THE FILE(JOINED MOVIE)MY HARD DISK keeps on running ENNDLESSLY AND MY SYESTEM BECOMES EXTREMLY SLOW.IN TASK MANAGER MY 98% OF THE RAM(OUT OF 4 GB)IS shown to be in use ,although no other application is running.
I ACNT RENAME THE FILE,I CANT CUT IT,I ACNT DELETE IT, SAME MESSAGE ALL THE TIMES "action cant be completed because file is open in windows explorer'.
interstingly I CAN PLAY THE FILM AND WATCH IT.my system crashes on doing so.
this is cas ewith ONLY MKV FILES.i had similar problems,prior to this with atleAst 20 movies out of 300(which i had).i had to delete them unwillingly,because that was only option.that also FORCIBLY WITH HELP OF LOCKHUNTER.
lockhunter showed no process is locking the file till i havent open the folder containing that file.
as soon as i open the folder whole problem(mentioned above) starts.if i unlock it.it says file unlocked and closes my windows explorer.i again start it and its OK TILL I DONT OPEN THAT FOLDER.AS I OPEN THE FOLDER,IT AGIN SHOWS WINDOWS EXPLOREWR LOCKING THE FILE.SO BEST SOLUTION WAS TO DELETE IT.
TODAY i came to know ABOUT METEORITE.exe.its a program which cuts the corrupt part from mkv files.
i tried it on a film.
it fixed the film and created new file of name METEORIT.DARK CITY.
and running time of movie was reduced by few seconds.8 actualy,but film played till the last.
and file stared showing as A ICON OR THUMBNAIL.which locked locked or corrupt files didnt do.
I WANT TO ASK YOU THAT HOW can i know which part is corrupt?
even if i REDOWNLOAD ALL THE FILES,
WILL MY FILES BE NRMAL THIS TIME?
OR IF YOU HAVE ANY SOLUTION THEN PLEASE HELP ME.BECAUSE I DONT WANT TO DELETE THIS FILM.I AM READY TO REDOWNLOAD IT
IF THIS TIME FILES WONT BE CORRUPT.
@prashant : The cause of this problem maybe MediaFire's Advertising cotain virus and your antivirus blocked it.

you said 20/300 of your movies had similar problem? those 20 is from this site too? If not, then that's probably caused by your system, re-installing windows might fix this. If yes, then is Mediafire's faul (and also the FFSJ' too, It doesn't tell you automatically which part is failed), you have to compare the MD5 checksum to find out that part, then re-download it. That's a BIG PROBLEM I've been afraid of with FFSJ when using it with Mediafire's very very unstable storage.
But now, newer movies, I go with WinRAR and it's very "convenient" recovery method.
Anyway, I'm sorry about this. xD

I checked the MD5 of my files(new ones,which i downloaded today) with those above.its same.but the problem continues even after redownloading the file.INTERESTING thing is that same file creates no problem on some of my freinds system,and on some it creates similar to me.
.. I had never seen this before. Im using both WINRAR and FFSJ.
Sometimes, I've got the same problem but with .exe file not mkv file . And I use Unlocker to sovle this problem.

yes many people report that there is a serious conflict between DivX codecs and some media players like Matroska Haali Media splitter.
I have a strong feeling that you are using Matroska Haali Media splitter o_0
if not, here is another solution:
In windows 7
open windows explorer
Select Organize
Go to Folder and Search Option
Select View tab
Under Files and Folders select the check box Always show icons, never thumbnails
Click Ok.
I MOSTLY USE VLC MEDIA PLAYER.sometimes MEDIAPLAYERCLASSIC HOMECINEMA.
THANX @money_rain,my problem solved.i simply selected 'never show thumbnails"like you said.
I am realy curious to know what effect did this had on windows explorer so that same file isnt causing problem.!?
please suggest me some better players for HIDEF BLURAY PRINTS.although vlc and mpc are also very good.but if you think there is any better,then please tell me.
